Dreams Deferred

Dear Molly,

I have been having a hard time letting go of something.  It is an opportunity I am afraid I missed last summer.  I started to see my dream come true, and I got scared.  The moment slipped through my fingers, and now it’s a year later.  How can I let go of this regret and reconnect to my dream?

Regretting in Roanoke

Dear Regretting in Roanoke,

I miss chances all the time, but the thing is chances are everywhere.  If you are busy thinking about “the one” you missed, you will miss all the other ones right in front of you too.  Learn from your past.  It happens for a reason.  The best you can do is keep moving forward and remember to keep your eyes and heart open – something even better will come along.  In the meantime, experience your grief and then release it.  Nothing is meant to be held on to forever.  Something tells me you will remember how excited you were back then – you will apply your lesson to this excitement – and you will fly even higher than you ever dreamed possible.  Life is meant to be lived now – one moment unfolding into the next.  Step into the flow, and let it bring you to life.  You are right where you are meant to be.

Love,

Molly
